Trident Formation

Getting my army ready for summer just  got my ta check back which means I can pick up the couple things I need to finish off my army list. If I had time I would be entering the Ard Boyz tournament this year but will not have my stuff finished in time and I really don't believe that Eldar would be able to pull out a win with Imperial Guard, Blood Angels, and Dark Eldar having what I consider a much better codex for the 5th edition rules. I have only had a chance to read the new Grey Knights codex so I don't have a huge opinion on it's power but from what I read I was thinking of making a small GK army. So instead I am preparing my list to be 1850 for all comers and we will see how it turns out.

Hq
Reclusiarch

Elites
4x lighting claw termies 2x thunder hammer
Termies will ride in landraider with multi melta and heavy bolter sponsons

1x Furioso Dread (blood talons) with storm raven.

1x Sang priest

Troops

2x 5 man assault sqauds in razor back with las/twin link plas

2x Rhino with 10 man assault squad and 2 meltas and Hammer

Heavy Support

1x Storm Raven multi metla and twin linked Las cannon

This is my current list idea running the 2 rhinos and landraider as my main force up the center of the field the storm raven will target light armor and the furioso caughting a ride will pick up the small hordes if it can. The 2 las plas razor backs are objective holders and I might switch them to twin link las cannon. Just like the fact I get 2 guns for 35 pts so if one gets destroyed it isn't but a waste of space on the table for me. I have a few other ideas I am playing with and will post them soon.

Death to the 3+ armor save!

I am in full belief that since the space marine is the post child of the games workshop they have to build new army books to combat these battle hardened warriors. This being true with each new book that comes out there are more guns that are ap 3 and power weapons that eat marines up and wipe them off the board. A prime example is the blood angels codex they have the the baal predator which can have a firestorm cannon on it giving the tank that moves fast mind you. It is definatiely  a great way to destroy marines, but it is not the best way to the blood angels offer the furioso dread. This bad boy is able to munch through a marines squad in one round of  close combat. This being so older books are losing edge against newer books. A good example is the black templar, they have really one good list that is able to stand a chance against another 5th edition space marine book. I could put together just about any list in the blood angels book as long as i include the baal breds and furioso's those templars are going to be mince meat. This being said when you go to choose an army sometimes it is better to choose one that as a more current codex or is about to get a new one within 6 months. Doing this will bring a better chance for victory for newer players making the game a better experience over all.

Dead Week

So this week I didn't get to play and didn't really have time to build anything. This was due to mid terms and some car issues. My current car is broken and has more repairs than it is worth. So my wife and I decided it was time to get a new car. We had been talking about doing this sometime in the next year but now are forced to do it this week. So we just are going to bite the bullet and go for it.  We wanted a small car that could get good  mileage and yet one that my wife felt felt safe in. Also I had to approve this was going to be the first car I really got to pick out since the my first car my parents gave to me and my second car was a family that I bought cause we needed another car so that my sister could also drive. The family car lasted me 3 years and has 230,000 miles on it and it was only an 2003. After a full day of looking and dealing with the deadly used car salesmen we decided that we wanted to get a mini cooper. We are still on the hunt more on this development and more on 40k in my next post.

Building-Marathon!

So been working on my Blood Angels for a while still no painting and trying to decide what I want to do for the last part of my 2000 pt list. I have a couple things in mind but not quite sure which I want to go with. Well on to what I have been up to this week got a ton of assault marines ready to go. Up to about 30 or so that have magnets and 20 have glued jump packs.

On top of finishing some of my marines I got some assault terminators built along with a few predator tanks that are magnetized.

Overall it has been a busy building week and still have a Storm Raven Gunship and 1 maybe 2 Furiouso Dreads That I need to get and Build and that will complete my first stage of my army. My second 2000 pts list for the Blood Angels needs stuff that I can't afford to buy quite yet but more updates are yet to come.

Fun With Magnets

I have been spending a ton of time working on building my army so when summer hits and I have more time to play I will be ready for battle. Currently the army is just in the build process and I will not put a drop of paint on my stuff until every piece I need is built. I have been playing with magnets this time around so that I can choose to swap gear when needed. This is helpful because models are a tad  expensive and having the option to swap out gear on a model instead of having to go buy a box of 5 guys so that you get two models to put a different gear layout can save money. Not that saving money is my goal because all money spent for this is play money. It has been a fun project with the magnets since I get sort of customize my guys and it is giving me experience for the next conversion that I want to do which is to make Mephiston. Just not a fan of the model so going to Frankenstein my own. Below is a pick of a assault terminator with a thunder hammer that has a magnetic arm. I will post some of my own stuff soon the camera is in a location that I am unaware of so it will be a day or two before I get anything up.

40k universe

The main devotion to this blog is the adventures I have as I play Warhammer 40k with friends and new people I meet.  For those who do not know 40k is a table top war gaming strategy.  It was made in Britain in 1975 and was founded by a company called Games Workshop or commonly referred to as GW.  Since then they have had many updates and new rules and armies that have come out for people to play. The game itself is played with models that players get to build and paint. The build and painting of the model doesn’t really matter all that much especially the painting, but it is more of a pride thing for your models looking great as you play. I have been playing for about a year and half and currently play two armies the Eldar and the Blood Angels. I am more currently focused on the Blood Angels and will have some pictures and updates of games and my current model builds in further posts. I will also post about rules and other details surrounding the game so that people who are newer to the game and are interested are able to get a better feel.
